Beginning, Again

A beginning is a point in time and space at which something starts.  In each moment we must engage with this ineffable quality of our reality in our own way and in our own lives in a constant dance with what is, what was and would could be.  An identity and relationship to OUR world is forged in the dynamic interplay of each coming moment.  Something more alive lives here, a spark that animates us and connects us and has the potential to communicate something deeper about the true nature of ourselves. In my work I am interested in exploring this territory and communicating this resonance to the viewer.  Embedded in the fluid understanding of who I am and what I feel is the direction my art will take, playing within this pocket of nowness and responding to what presents itself in each new moment. Obliterating to uncover a newness that emerges in its wake until something comes in to view that no longer feels like the product of conscious decision-making.  Something else entirely emerges, unexpected but charged with the vitality of our present engagement with it. Through this process we begin again, in each moment.
